The devastating floods of December 2015 had a profound impact on the character of the settlement and subsequent flood defence interventions have created a functional but denuded village core. Working with the Council and highway authority the practice has been commissioned to lead a team to fashion a new personality for the village centre which will see significant urban realm restructuring and public realm improvements to deliver cohesive public spaces which prioritise pedestrian movement.
